Perched on the Ambraises hills with a very pleasant and quiet little wood at the back, the gîtes are ideally situated at 40 km from Toulouse, 5 from Lavaur, and half an hour from Albi. The owners live nearby.
From the top of its towers, Magrin Castle dominates the Cocagne country. It is there, close, it can be seen from the House of all winds, also at the top of a hill. At the centre of the Toulouse-Albi-Carcassonne triangle, the Cocagne country breathes the history of cultivation of pastel, who appreciated both these landscapes of rolling hills, turned to the South. The hamlet of St Joseph, at the foot of the Montagne Noire, includes two thoroughly comfortable gîtes and the owners' home, who are retired farmers. The independent gîtes (n° 40 and 730)have been set up in a cowshed and a barn. All around, one hectare of meadows, for guaranteed quietness. For your refreshment, lovely swimming-pool set up in the courtyard. The restored bakery oven gathers residents every week around a meal baked in the oven, including home-made bread.
Between Lauragais and Pays de Cocagne, the gîte of La Briqueterie enjoys a privileged location, close to the great touristic sites of the area. From La Briqueterie, you will easily start discovering the architectural and patrimonial riches of Toulouse, the Pink Town, the Episcopal City of Albi, or the City of Carcassonne, classified World Heritage by the Unesco. Don't miss either a nature escapade into the Montagne Noire, on the heights of the Great Site of Revel/Sorèze/St Ferréol, at the springs of the Canal du Midi.
